Start-up Grant in Mixing

The North American Mixing Forum sponsors a grant to encourage new faculty to begin research careers in areas that will impact the general field of fluid mixing technology. Any untenured but tenure-track faculty member at a Ph.D. granting institution in North America is eligible for this grant. Grants are awarded by the NAMF award committee based on applications describing the scope of the mixing research. The grant amount for 2001 was $20,000, gradually increasing to $24,000 in 2007. The recipient is announced at the fall AIChE meeting each year an applicant is selected. The recipient will report initial and final results from grant activity at Biennial Conferences of the North American Mixing Forum. The NAMF Startup Grant in Mixing has been given since 1999.

Below is a list of grant recipients:

6th (Nashville, TN - 2009) Dr. Guiren Wangt, Mechanical Engineering, South Carolina University
5th (Park City, Utah - 2007) Dr. James F. Gilchrist, Chemical Engineering Lehigh University
